This application allows the user to connect to specialized pressure control devices designed to regulate the applied pressure inside of a scoliosis brace. The pressure control devices (or “Active Brace Monitors”) were developed by Dr. Edmond Lou and Fraaz Kamal at the University of Alberta. Full configuration of the active brace monitor is possible through this interface. Please note that this app differs from the “Brace Monitor” app also available on the App Store. The “Brace Monitor” app is used to control the brace monitoring data acquisition devices (i.e. the devices that do not provide real-time pressure regulation). This app is used to control the active brace monitor (i.e. the device that provides real-time pressure regulation for the scoliosis brace).
Features of this application include:
+ Downloading, viewing, and exporting long-term data from the active brace monitor.
+ Reading pressure and temperature data from the active brace in real-time.
+ Adjusting the high and low pressure threshold values of the active brace. These threshold values are used to ensure that the scoliosis brace is always providing the prescribed amount of pressure against the patient’s body at all times.
+ Adjust the sleep and wake times of the active brace to ensure that the device’s pressure regulation does not activate at night while the patient is sleeping.
+ See a graphical representation of the brace’s applied pressure.
